Online Marketing Best Practices

Hi Everyone, Please take it easy on a newbie who is curious and wants to learn from everyone…
I’m starting an online retailer focused on sporting goods (apparel, equipment, etc.). I’ve been testing some numbers based on best practices research, and now I want to start rolling this out to a bigger sample. However, I have a question about how the numbers roll up. If I were to do the following:
Affiliate: 10% of sales CSE: 20% of sales Email Marketing: 5% of sales SEM: 10% of sales That adds to 45% of sales spent on marketing. Does that sound right? Too high? Too low? Again, I’m not looking for anyone to “do my work for me”, I’m just using you experts as a sounding board. Thanks in advance for the help - much appreciated.
A genius at work the writer truly is, I do not know when he convinced me. Every line that’s presented is valued its weight in gold. It must be appreciated the ease of access one can view around various posts without any disturbance. I could not abide but admit with each and every line the author has penned. I like the pleasant perspective in which the articles are written. Allied photos are placed to the posts and pop it even more stunning. I enjoy the speed at which the site is updated. I personally do not believe anyone could have written it better than this fellow. It can convert you from a non believer to a believer in a matter of lines.
Like the fact that the site is written with an open mind. Loved the great citations he had yet shown. No abbreviation in the articles and that makes it easy to understand. Quality over quantity is the motto on this blog certainly. Real creative setup and priceless articles on this blog, like it.
So simple however so elaborated are the posts that you cannot wait but stop and think about the ample meanings in it. The context of the blog puts you at ease with detailed and good written articles. The primal thing is how the site is meant for public purpose and not exclusively for the technical geek. The resolution of photos in the site is perfect. The writer tries to transmit marvelous thoughts. This site is great permanently giving neutral reviews and news. Practical knowledge that each and every needs to know concerning this niche.

About Tom Pick
I’ve been a b2b marketer since 1992, focused on research, writing, leadership and online marketing since 1996.
Today, I help clients, independently and through B2B technology marketing and PR firm KC Associates, increase their visibility, credibility, and business success through interactive marketing and PR activities. Specifically:
* I’ve helped more than 30 clients in the U.S. and Canada—primarily technology companies but as diverse as real estate, call centers and preschool toys—dramatically improve their search position and traffic through search engine optimization (SEO).
* I’ve developed, optimized and managed several search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns that have significantly exceeded industry average benchmarks for click-through and conversion rates.
* I’ve created successful interactive marketing and PR programs for clients, including online video, blogging, podcasting, online advertising, thought leadership promotion and social media optimization.
I’ve been writing the WebMarketCentral online marketing blog—which has won several accolades including a MarketingSherpa Readers Choice award and is ranked in the top 0.08% of all blogs tracked by Technorati—since 2005. Among the topics covered on the WMC blog are SEO, social media optimization, online advertising and interactive PR.

A visually stimulating and knowing thought challenging blog. Constantly I am finding something or the other through this blog. I am captured by pithy and whimsical headings that attract me into the post. Savoring the freedom, how I can pass on my opinions beside attesting my individuality. The blog posts are appropriated and educational. This site has a nature of its own so to speak. I adore the cynicism the writer has to offer.
I adore the large-scale reach this blog has in terms of its readers from over the globe. Enlightening content upon this topic, you can see things you didn’t know before. It makes you feel associated to the writer in ways more than one. Admire the fact that the blog is written with an open mind. Loved the great citations he had already given. Quality of the content is what I adore mainly.
Quick reference is what I like, how only in one page one can take a look and select what to read. The posts maintains you hooked until the last row. The central thing is how the site is considered for public usefulness and not particularly for the technical geek. The color melding and the design in the blog are a treat to look to. The facts are been placed precisely in front of us to see and examine. The imposing look and feel of this blog set my cast for reading on it. The illustrations by no means appear unsuited, all are to the point. The technical knowledge of this blog writer is unequaled. The author uses a writing tone which I prefer. It totally makes you wish to read to the end. Practical info that anyone must to know about this topic.

Youth Marketing Presentations
What is Uncommon Sense?
Perhaps the best way to describe the uncommon is to describe what it is not.
So let us first examine, what is common sense?
As Einstein said “Common sense is but the collection of prejudices acquired by age eighteen”
Common Sense is the rationale behind a boring marketing decision to aim for the safe option or marketing by committee
Common Sense tells us through the media that we are “not enough” but the pain can be removed by this next purchase - a BMW or Olay’s wrinkle cream
Common Sense propels business owners to constantly seek “more” growth, “more” market share because that’s what everyone else is doing
Common Sense is health and safety, litigious culture and the 4 page disclaimer
Common Sense means our organizations encourage us to be “busy” and spend our days chasing our tails, checking emails and reacting to other people’s agendas
I’m sure that some of these resonate with you, because these are common symptoms to a common problem - that is we live in fear of making decisions, taking risks and being guided by our principles
